Emily is delighted to be returning to her home county, 'Lovely Leitrim', to read as part of the 2023 Drumshanbo Written Word festival at 8:00pm on Thursday, 24 August in the Mayflower Ballroom, Drumshanbo.

Emily's poem, "Bridget's Hope" can now be heard in the Galway's Poetry Jukebox as part of the 'Poetry as Commemoration' initiative. This poem follows the thoughts of Cumann na mBan activist, Bridget, who is based in Athenry as the Truce is declared in July, 1921. The Poetry Jukebox is a free sound installation that features the work of eleven poets and it is located outside Galway City Museum at the Spanish Arch for twelve weeks from mid-August. As part of Glor Art Centre's 'Artist to Artist Mentoring Scheme 2023', Emily has been selected to Mentor emerging poet, Deirdre Devally. Thank you to Glor Arts Centre in Ennis, Co. Clare for their valuable work in supporting artists. Emily will hold four mentoring sessions with Deirdre between June and August 2023.
Emily also mentored poet and artist, Aine Rose O'Connell during January & March 2023 as part of a training initiative by Age & Opportunity to support artists and she deeply enjoys mentoring other writers.
For Poetry Day Ireland 2023, (Thursday, 27 April) Emily will host a special reading by the MA in Creative Writing students, members of UL Creative Writing team - Donal Ryan & Eoin Devereux -with guest poet, Anton Floyd at 1:00pm - 2:15pm in the Bourn Vincent Gallery, above the University Concert Hall, at the University of Limerick. This is a free event but all donations on the day go to the United Nations Refugee agency Ireland (UNHCR-Ireland). Everyone welcome!

Emily is delighted that her poem, "Bridget's Hope", commissioned in 2021 by the Galway County Council Decade of Commemorations Committee & Galway Public Libraries, will be included in the Poetry as Commemoration Jukebox in Galway.
Emily's ekphrastic poem, "Tastemaker" will be published in Cyphers 95, which will be launched at the Strokestown International Poetry Festival on Sunday, 30 April 2023.
To mark the launch of his best-selling new Irish novel, My Father's House, Emily will interview author and Professor of Creative Writing, Joseph O'Conor in a special event at 4:00pm in the Bourn Vincent Gallery, Foundation Building, University of Limerick on Wednesday, 19 April 2023.
Emily's poem "The Last Cuppa" will be published in issue 58 of Crannóg magazine. Emily will read at the launch of Crannóg 58 at 6:30pm in The Crane Bar, Galway on Friday, 31 March.
Two of Emily's poems have been nominated for the 2022 Pushcart Prize. Emily is grateful to Orla Fay, editor of Drawn to the Light journal and Ryan Dennis, editor of The Milk House for nominating her poems 'Anxiety of Influence' and 'I Am Hawthorn' respectively.

Emily's script 'Honouring Edward Bunting' will feature on 'Sunday Miscellany' on RTE Radio 1 on Sunday, 14 August. The piece will include Emily's new poem, "Edward Bunting encounters the harpers".
Emily will be speaking to Aisling McDonald, presenter of 'What's On' on KCLR 96FM at 6:15pm on Thursday, 21 July about 'Saoícht - A celebration of Ireland's leading poets and traditional Irish musicians' which will take place as part of Kilkenny Arts Festival, on Monday, 8 August at St. John's Priory, Kilkenny at 8pm. Tickets cost €20 and full proceeds will go to Kilkenny Civil Defence Ukraine Appeal.
